On 24 December, Kojima posted on Twitter to explain how his Christmas night is going. He says that he was going to see a movie, Last Christmas directed by Paul Feig, but he changed his might. In his tweet, he revealed that he started working on his new project.

After the release of Death Stranding, the creator did not want to stop and wait until the game is dead. Instead, he teased what his next game will be about. In the Twitter post, it is possible to see two different novels on the table. Death’s End and The Dark Forest, entries to the Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy.

While the critically-acclaimed trilogy is a must-read for Sci-Fi fans, it might be different for Kojima. It is possible that he is sharing his Christmas reads with his fans, but, really? In the picture, two novels are the first things one can set eyes on. Therefore, it is not likely that they weren't placed on purpose.

What about the next Kojima game?

In the Sci-Fi novel series, the Chinese government's scientists invite aliens to visit the world and develop humanity. As you might have guessed, the story goes on with this track. On this basis, we can think that the next Kojima game might be a Science-Fiction game coupled with horror themes.
