In Red Dead Redemption 2, you may easily find yourself in trouble with a bounty on your head. If you don't want to mess with it and just want it to go away, we're glad you are here. In this guide, we will go through various ways of getting rid of a bounty.

First things first, if you are in the early game it does not make sense to pay off your bounty. As you progress through the game, you might get bounties after missions. If you try to keep paying them off, you might find yourself without a dime. But, if you want to do so anyway, here is how.

Red Dead Redemption 2: How to get rid of your bounty

Removing a bounty is not complicated, you just need to go to a Post Office. When you enter the Post Office, go and speak with the clerk behind the counter. This discussion will give you different options to pay off your bounty, depending on counties. If you committed crimes across the country, you will need to pay all counties one by one or choose the ones you want to pay.

To find a Post Office, you can go to Valentine and then head southeast. You will find this Post Office easily in the early game, so it is easy to get used to. Also, if you stay away from a county long enough the police will stop chasing you. Do not forget this option.

On the other hand, money may not always be your only option. You can surrender and turn yourself in to spend your time in jail. In order to do this, you need to go near the police, with all your weapons holstered. Then, get in a discussion with the NPC to trigger the surrender event.
