One Piece Odyssey was definitely a game that I was looking forward to. The information and videos that emerged before the game was released indicated that the game would be really good. Moreover, my opinion did not change after the game was released. Because One Piece Odyssey really took off. In my One Piece Odyssey review article, I will talk about exactly the reasons for this. Except, I feel like it's been a while since I've written a review of anything. There's a slight nostalgic atmosphere as well. No, I'm not crying. All these onions... Aside from the excitement, it was a really enjoyable experience for me. Now I will tell you about this. The fact that I still haven't gone into details is another matter, but I won't go into further detail, I promise.

One Piece Odyssey review

What is the story of One Piece Odyssey?

As standard, I will talk about the story first in my One Piece Odyssey review article. Let me try to explain it superficially, without giving too many spoilers. The Straw Hat Pirates are shipwrecked. They come to a mysterious island and Luffy's straw hat disappears. Luffy, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin and Franky go to the island for Zoro, Nami and Brook. They accidentally enter King Kong Garden. They see a Del Kong holding Nami. After fighting the Eisas and Dry Penguins, they manage to reach Del Kong's nest. This is the beginning of the story. However, there are also issues going on in the background. Because, after the Five Elders learn that the Straw Hat Pirates have capsized in Waford, they send a secret person to the island.

The Straw Hat Pirates encounter Lim and Adio Suerte, a wandering explorer. Lim is a young woman in Waford who has the power to steal people's powers and trap them in cubes. She returns Luffy's lost straw hat. However, he steals the crew's abilities. She turns it into cubes and breaks it up and distributes it. The pirate crew must explore Memoria, a land made of memories. He also must discover his lost powers. The team travels to Arabasta, Water 7, Enies Lobby, Marineford, and Dressrosa. Here he encounters old friends and enemies. I can underline that there are moments that will make you very emotional. I can definitely vouch for this. Moreover, What time is it If you're wondering how long it takes, we've answered that before too.

How is One Piece Odyssey gameplay-wise?

One Piece Odyssey is a structure that deserves review in terms of gameplay. In fact, it's basically the standard turn-based JRPG game we know in mind. However, it adds something to the gameplay in its own way. The game has a really large, comprehensive world. We first explore these places on foot. Then, points that help with fast travel appear. Of course, this fast travel issue really comes up after a long time. But, fortunately, it still comes.

It is possible to attack any enemy you see outside. Of course, they can attack you too. If you catch them from behind, the first attack is definitely yours. If they catch you, they shoot you. However, when you see an enemy in the open world, it is very simple to attack first. Assert yourself, then get out of their space. Even if you're standing in front of them, they can't see you unless you're in their space. Then, grab them from behind and enjoy the battle.

How are the wars?

Speaking of battles, I must also explain the One Piece Odyssey battles in my review article. Because it has a comprehensive structure in itself. You can have artificial intelligence manage the war automatically. However, I wouldn't recommend this for strong enemies. Because the game has a rock, paper, scissors logic. More precisely, there is a conversation about power, technique and speed. You need to determine your strategy accordingly. Otherwise, it is very likely that you will be beaten. You also develop and develop your skills over time. You accomplish these with cubes you find in the open world. That's why it's a good idea to keep an eye out for cubes when you're wandering around the open world.

The abilities you use against your enemies are also diverse. There are abilities that hit one or more people in your area. There are also abilities that hit one or more enemies in another area. There are even abilities that damage every enemy in the game. Of course, there are also things like Nami's stealing ability and Luffy's Gear abilities. You also have the chance to improve your characters with skills. Therefore, the team you build will vary entirely depending on your strategy. You can also replace a character you find useless during battle with a more useful one.

Then, you also have items you can use during battle. One Piece Odyssey gives us a lot of items to examine and use. Thanks to these items, you can weaken the attack power and defense of your enemies. In fact, you even have a chance to stun. Moreover, you can also heal yourself with these items. In fact, you also have the chance to strengthen yourself with these items. However, we should not forget that this is a step. Because when you use items, you may lose your luck.

There are also abilities that unlock as you progress through the game. As you complete Hysteria quests, abilities are unlocked. Are there characters on the team that are suitable for the unlocked abilities? So, by strengthening the bond level, it means you can perform very powerful attacks at once. Although it sounds like a lot of effort, it is actually not that difficult. Also, there are dramatic events. In-battle mini missions, that is. By doing these, you gain extra experience or items.

What's the open world like?

I said something at the beginning of my One Piece Odyssey review article. In fact, specifically in the story part. In the game, we go to Arabasta, Water 7, Enies Lobby, Marineford and Dressrosa. Each part of this is a different beauty, a different excitement. Because there are some truly moving moments. In the episodes I watched, I saw the regions and said, "I wish I could visit." I seem to remember what I said. The game currently gives this chance. Especially Arabasta touched me very much. Because, it's almost time for Going Merry to begin! On top of that, Vivi… Anyway. I don't want to remember and get emotional again. It will definitely be beneficial for you to travel around these regions. Because almost every corner is full.

Before starting the battles, I recommend you to collect the items around. In this way, you can set up a camp and produce items for the war. In this way, you protect your life, increase your power, and weaken your enemy. All kinds of great advantages. At the same time, there are cubes that you need to find for abilities. In this way, you strengthen your abilities. That's why research is essential. Moreover, you need to gain experience and money by defeating enemies. There are also chests that you should not miss. Of course, you cannot open some chests right away. But don't worry, you will open these chests in the later stages of the game. That's why it's best not to forget their locations.

In my One Piece Odyssey review article, let me also talk about the characters. Additionally, each of your characters has different characteristics for the open world. For example, Zoro is a character who breaks metal cases. Sanji is a character who sees hidden rare ingredients. Usopp breaks the items hiding high up. Nami finds the money and it turns out to be a really nice amount of money. In this and similar ways, each character has different characteristics. Of course, I can give you a hint about this. Let's say you're traveling with Luffy. You couldn't see the money because you weren't Nami at that moment. But don't worry, Nami immediately said, “Aha! MONEY!" he rises. You can change your character and get the money easily.

How are the tasks?

One Piece Odyssey is a production that managed to confuse me about the missions. The reason is that while some tasks are enjoyable, some are boring. We need to go from one end of the map to the other. Then we also have to go back. Maybe we need to go back again. When this is the case, it becomes annoying, at least for me. The speed of traveling in the open world in the game is not very high, even if you run. In my opinion, the ability to travel smoothly and quickly would be better.

But there are also missions that I would like to say that I enjoyed in my One Piece Odyssey review article. In particular, the bounty hunting missions are very enjoyable. Because there are strong, fierce rivals. This time, we have to put the artificial intelligence aside and play it ourselves. We make wars incredibly enjoyable by making strategies. This adds more excitement and action to the game, in my opinion.

Let's get into the business of reviewing One Piece Odyssey visuals

One Piece Odyssey was definitely a production that made me feel like I was playing a game. I love games that don't pursue realism but reveal style and art. Yes, beautiful visuals are definitely a legendary event. But this is just a game. In my opinion, it is a much more logical choice to focus resources on gameplay rather than pursuing realism. The game already has a visual style that suits the anime style very well. So, it definitely won me over.

Also, I did not encounter any problems with the game. Well, maybe this is because I started the game after it was released. But I still haven't encountered it. There were no crashes, crashes, freezes, crashes or crashes, nothing happened. Now, I will share with you the system requirements of the game. In this way, you can also check your computer, if you are going to play on PC.

One Piece Odyssey system requirements (Minimum):

  • Requires 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 2400G
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Display card: GeForce GTX 780 or Radeon R9 290X
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • storage space: 35 GB free storage space

One Piece Odyssey system requirements (Recommended):

  • Requires 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Display card: GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 590
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • storage space: 35 GB free storage space

If you have such a system, you can play comfortably without any problems.

Now, let's come to the One Piece Odyssey sound and music review part.

We are slowly coming to the end of the One Piece Odyssey review article. But there are things I want to tell you before I finish the article. Because this game really caught my attention about something. Normally, sounds and music do not attract my attention much. The voice acting in the game is really nice. As we wander around the open world, we truly feel like we're part of the Straw Hat Pirates. Because conversations are wonderful. Luffy, as we know. Sanji walks towards him. Everyone is exactly what I'm looking for. So, well done to the team.

Unfortunately, I can't say much about the music. Because I haven't come across any music that really caught my attention. Is there music suitable for the atmosphere of the game? Yes. But does it attract much attention? No. Actually, this is somewhat of a good thing. After all, this is a role-playing game, not a music game.

What is the One Piece Odyssey review conclusion?

We have come to the end of another long adventure. Because now is the time to end this matter. Frankly, game I liked it very much. I would definitely like a more fluid gameplay version of One Piece World Seeker. However, it was also very popular as a turn-based RPG game. Only, a smoother and faster travel would be more enjoyable. Because tasks get boring after a while. If there is a minus in the game, this is it for me. Other than that, it's definitely one of the best One Piece games I've ever played. Well done to the developer team. Now, I'm moving on to completing the game completely.
