After a few test runs on test servers, the newest map of PUBG finally went live on PC. Karakin is a relatively small map when compared to the others, only allowing 64-player games. The update which brings map live is 6.1, the first update of the sixth season of the game.
Karakin is the smallest map ever we have ever seen on PUBG. It is a 2x2 kilometers map with various tools differing from other maps. Since it is small compared to maps like Sanhok, tools, and materials could not be made the same. Therefore, you may experience different gameplay mechanics.
It should be noted that Karakin is the first PUBG map to offer destruction. Buildings, vehicles, and the environment can be damaged. In addition, soft walls will not let bullets through. So, the bullet penetration exists on Karakin. Even though the penetration is exclusive to the new map, for now, this may not be the case in the coming days.
Karakin will replace Vikendi in rotation, meaning that players will not be able to play on Vikendi anymore. The reason is, PUBG Corp. is currently working on a large scale design overhaul on Vikendi. We may expect some updates regarding the map soon.
