If you want to try Insurgency: Sandstorm for free, click the "Play Game" button and you are good to go. While the exact time is not specified on Steam, the free to play period will end on December 17.
If you have fun with the game, you can also grab it for half-price until January 2, 2020. The game now has a price tag of $15/£13/€15, which is one of the best deals it has ever seen.
