The Pathless, developed by Annapurna Interactive and Giant Squid, was a fantastic independent game that went unnoticed when the platform first launched.
The Pathless is an open-world adventure without checkboxes or waypoints that focuses on exploring quickly while letting you take in the fresh air. This is made possible by a momentum-based bow system that requires you to rhythmically fire arrows at targets strewn across the area.
While battling corrupted monsters and releasing them, you will jump across rivers and boost your way down a field while collecting crystals to improve your ability to glide.
What makes The Pathless unique is the sense you get while parkouring your way around the expansive countryside while listening to the lovely soundtrack. And almost a year after the console's debut, it is still among the best independent games available.
Warframe
Since Warframe has been around for almost ten years, it has never been more powerful. Digital Extremes has done a fantastic job of developing the MMO, with many expansions under its belt, a large narrative with multiple arcs, a devoted fan following, and the promise of cross-play and cross-progression later this year.
The game is just as amazing on PS5 as it is everywhere else, but it now achieves its full potential thanks to a fluid frame rate and stunning upgraded visuals.
